Georgia wasted very little time getting on the board in the game, with Andrew Kew netting the first goal 38 seconds into the first quarter, followed quickly by a pair of goals from his teammates to give the Swarm an early 3-0 lead.

Austin Madronic finally put the Rush on the scoreboard with 5:36 left in the opening quarter, but Georgia added another three goals in the remaining time to put them up 6-1.

Things started looking up for the Rush in the second quarter as Robert Church scored three in a row at 13:31, 12:38 and 10:54 to close the gap to two points.

That’s the closest Saskatchewan got to a comeback all night, as the Swarm scored another two of their own shortly after Church’s hat trick.

Saskatchewan’s Rhys Duch added one to wrap up the first half.

The final 30 minutes were a much closer affair, but the Swarm managed to hold off the Rush and secure the victory, outscoring the visitors 6-5 in the process.

Rush goaltender Alex Buque made 38 saves in the game.

With the loss, Saskatchewan drops to a 6-9 record, fifth in the National Lacrosse League’s West Division, and will next host the Halifax Thunderbirds (7-8) on April 15.

SJHL FINAL SET

Only two teams remain in the battle for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League title: Battlefords North Stars and Flin Flon Bombers.

The top-ranked North Stars swept their best-of-seven semifinal series against the No. 4 Melfort Mustangs, solidifying their berth in the final with a 5-2 win in Game 4 on April 5.

In the other semifinal matchup, No. 3 Flin Flon upset the No. 2 Humboldt Broncos, winning their series 4-1.

BLAZERS ADVANCE TO TELUS CUP

The Saskatoon Blazers earned their way to the Telus Cup Sunday after an overtime win over the Warman Wildcats in the west regionals.
